It’s rare for me to attend book signings, so I was really excited to go to Khaled’s Hosseini’s book signing at the local Costco in San Francisco. I finished reading And The Mountains Echoed, but I just haven’t had time to write my review.
I never know what to say to authors who I admire. My first inclination is to gush and say “I love your book!” But c’mon, how original is that? He must hear that one all the time. I could be all refined and say “The themes of memory and love are intertwined so wonderfully well that blah, blah, blah.” That’s not me. In the end, I merely said “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I really enjoy your writing.”
